Scone & District Community Council are committed to objectives as found in the Perth & Kinoss Council Constitution for Community Councils. Two of these objectives state “to promote the well-being of the community” and “to foster community spirit and to be a means whereby the people of the area shall be able to voice their opinions on any matter affecting their lives, their welfare, their environment, its development and amenity.” In carrying out these objectives and to promote healthier lifestyles and encourage better use of our open spaces, your Community Council is asking for your views on the concept of outdoor gym equipment for use by all age groups at a suitable recreation location within your community.
Several companies within the UK supply and install outdoor gym equipment that claims to “make exercise available to all, promote use of open/green spaces, benefit the whole community and encourage healthier living”.
