An answer came from SEPA, when is a Drain not a Drain? – appears they don’t know! More to follow…. sepa reply drain or watercourse Dec16
SDCC were assured that the definition of this drain would be set by SEPA and this might unlock funds for repairs if it was part of the Annety Burn Flood Prevention Area – no statement has issued from SEPA so we are chasing this: SDCC letter SEPA re BD 071216
Around 50 members of the community came to the meeting on Thursday. Everyone recognised that the Community Council and in particular Donald McKerracher had done an enormous amount of work to uncover information and evidence. Donald’s presentation was well received with many relevant questions asked by the audience. The overriding sentiment was for the community to work together and share information. Many pieces of new information was forthcoming and the community council would like to hear from you if you too have information that can support the already extensive body of evidence that is being gathered.
There is another hole in the Wheel Inn car park and it is on top of where the recent repair was done. It measures approx 1foot wide by about 3 foot deep. Surface water is running off surface into the hole.
